Red Rocks Amphitheater
All fans of live music have two venues on their bucket lists for seeing a concert - Red Rocks outside Denver and the Gorge in Washington state. Both are famous as beautiful outdoor venues with great acoustics and are favorites for attendees and artists.
I was lucky to visit Red Rocks for the first time to see the Colorado jam band String Cheese Incident for three amazing shows in July.
The venue is built in a national park and resembles a Greek structure carved out of the majestic mountains. There is a museum behind the venue with photos and exhibits of some of the bands that have played there over the decades including the Beatles. The Ships Rock Grill restaurant is in the museum area. They take reservations and have the best dining options at the venue.
String Cheese played great shows. Almost every day during the summer events and concerts are held at Red Rocks. Every great musician and music fan wants a chance to play there for good reason. It more than lived up to its reputation!
