NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale presents Frank Stella: Experiment and Change
NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale presents Frank Stella: Experiment and Change, an exhibition to commemorate the museum’s 60th anniversary celebration and the artist’s 60-year career from the late 1950’s to present. The exhibition, composed of approximately 300 paintings, relief sculpture and drawings will explore Stella’s trajectory from minimalism to maximalism. Frank Stella emerged as part of a generation of American artists excited and challenged by Abstract Expressionism. Patrons will revel in his painting’s bright fluorescent pigments, sketches and maquettes that illustrate his growth as an artist. Curated by Bonnie Clearwater, Director and Chief Curator, the exhibition is on view from November 12, 2017 to July 8, 2018. The exhibition is presented by Dr. David and Linda Frankel and S. Donald Sussman, Fort Partners: Four Seasons Private Residences Fort Lauderdale and Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences at The Surf Club.
